1. Are your cakes safe for dogs to eat?
Yes! All of our cakes are made with dog-friendly ingredients that are safe and gentle on tummies. We never use chocolate, artificial sweeteners, or anything harmful to dogs. Note: every dog is unique—if you’re worried about certain ingredients, please speak with your vet first.
2. Can humans eat the cakes too?
Technically yes, since they’re made with human-grade ingredients – but they’re baked especially for pups, so they may not taste as sweet as a human cake. Although safe for humans, we are not licensed to prepare food for people, so these treats are for dogs only.
3. Do you cater for dogs with allergies?
We can accommodate common allergies (like wheat or dairy – just let us know by completing a form and we’ll discuss the best options.
4. How much notice do I need to give for an order?We usually ask for at least 5 days notice for cakes, but if you need something last minute, get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
5. How do I store my dog’s cake?
Cakes should be kept in the fridge and are best enjoyed within 5 days. For longer storage, you can freeze portions and thaw them as needed.
6. Do you deliver, or is it pick-up only?
We currently deliver within certain areas and offer pick-up from Kareela via appointment. Delivery fees and minimum orders for delivery do apply depending on your location.
7. What sizes of cakes do you offer?
We have a range of options – from small pawty cakes for one pup to larger celebration cakes for groups of doggy friends.
8. Can I customise the cake?Absolutely! You can choose colours, themes, and add your pup’s name or age to make it extra special. If you have an idea for a cake and don't see it on our menu, please complete a form with as much information as possible and we will get in touch.
9. How do I place an order?Orders can be placed directly through our website (or via DM/email if you prefer).
10. Do you make treats as well as cakes?
Yes – while cakes are our specialty, we also offer a selection of dog treats that are just as healthy and delicious!
11. How does ordering work?
All cakes from Jake’s Barkery are freshly made to order with love. Please allow a minimum of 5 days’ notice when placing your order. Once your order is submitted, you can include your preferred pickup or delivery date and time at checkout. Final pickup or delivery details will be confirmed with you after your order is received to ensure everything runs smoothly.
For custom or special request cakes not listed on our menu, additional notice may be required to allow time to source specific decorations, moulds, or supplies. If you have a special request, please contact us before ordering to confirm availability and timing.
